PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
All of our birdbaths and
fountains are made by hand-spinning copper
on a lathe. This technique of spinning metal was practiced by the ancient
Egyptians. A Flat disc of copper is held with a tool by the spinner against
a fulcrum for support to shape the metal. The principle is similar to a potter
shaping clay on a pottery wheel. With some of our hand-spun copper bowls,
we apply various patinas over a two to three week period to create a one-of-a-kind
patina bowl. Each bowl is then hand waxed to help maintain the color achieved.
All bowls are 23 inches in diameter and are available in natural copper, verdigris
patina and autumn patina.
|
The rocks are handpicked from the Mt. St. Helen's Toutle river and each individually drilled. All wires, tubes and pumps are concealed within the fountains.
All designs can be placed indoors or outdoors to create an elegant statement piece for the home or garden.
